Nominations are now open for our 2025 Board of Directors

Every year, we are excited to welcome a new group of Board members to serve on the Film Festival Alliance Board. The FFA Board members participate in, and advocate for, moving the organization forward, especially in this challenging time for film festivals and the film exhibition industry in general. The Film Festival Alliance has been a crucial and driving force in the industry, bringing festivals across the country together to learn from each other, to grow, and to positively impact our communities.

 

There are some particulars about serving on the FFA Board:

  • As a non-profit organization, our bylaws state that Board Members must reside in North America (USA, Canada, Mexico) and be at least 21 years-of-age.
  • Term of service is 3 years, with an optional second term.
  • Meetings are held monthly (12 per year) over zoom.

 

The Board Expectations include:

  • Attendance at 75% of monthly Board meetings.
  • Participation in one or more Board / event committee(s).
  • Make a gift at a level which is meaningful to you and demonstrates FFA is a top giving priority.
  • End of year self-assessment report card.
  • Must be a member of FFA as an individual or through your organization.

 

Criteria/Expertise Needed

As FFA looks to 2025 and beyond, there is a focus on membership growth, expanded services and continued industry advocacy. With that in mind, the Nominating Committee is particularly interested in folks with expertise or background in

  • Belonging and Inclusion Initiatives
  • Development, particularly in Philanthropy Advocacy
  • Membership growth strategies
  • Conference or Event Planning
  • Senior level Financial & Administrative management
  • Diversity (both of organizations represented - size, geography, scale, form - and humans - race, gender, sexuality, ability)

 

 Nominations are open now and will remain open until November 18, 2024.

 

The slate of board members will be sent to the membership December 4, 2024 to open the voting process which will close January 3, 2025. An announcement of the incoming Board and Executive Committee will be presented at Annual Town Hall on January 10, 2025.
