Membership Development/Funding Development
· Maintain member database – entering new member information, renewal requests, donor information, members relations (thank you notes, sending member cards, etc) and resolving problems that arise with member ticketing.
· Maintain and utilize membership and donor prospect database to increase funding resources – which includes data entry, data mining, and letter and email generation of target mailings.
· Fully integrate data collection from various methods of communicating with members and donors – (e.g. constant contact emails, Donor CRM software) and develop target lists and customer profiles.
· Increase membership and donor base and revenue levels using various processes (email, direct mail, social media, in person meetings, etc)
· Up-sell members and donors to higher levels of contribution revenue
· Collaborate with executive director on executing Membership and Donor development – setting up meetings, presentations, solicitation of prospective donors for endowment and operations.
· Collaborate with executive director on executing worthwhile ideas and initiatives to increase donor giving.
· Suggest, Develop, and Organize member and donor events, including annual fund-raising activities, receptions, special screenings, etc. Invitation lists and RSVP lists.
· Community liaison person as it relates to event/activities pertinent to the success of the Film Society.
· Assist ED on Donor letter/fund-raising campaigns (Spring and Autumn)
· Recommend to ED methods in which all our donor/member online systems can be improved.
Program Marketing
· Updating of Web site and Social media accounts weekly to coincide with weekly Programming Scheduled prepared by ED.
· Plan and Execute marketing of film center movies and events using various methods of customer engagement.
· Work with ED to the brand marketing of the Film Society and its programs, festivals
· Work with ED to market the annual International Film Festival
· Work with ED to sell Sponsorships and Advertising to corporate prospects and foundations.
Operational support in the daily operation of the MV Film Center might include Box Office, Concessions.
We are searching for an individual with college or post college degree, preferably in film or liberal arts. Previous experiences working with a film or cultural arts nonprofit is highly sought.
Qualities we are looking for in this individual are their ability and interest in working with the general public, mostly older mature adults. Someone who is personable and well spoken. Sometimes you will be asked to speak in front of groups. An ability to deal with change, multi-tasking projects, and problem solving are desirable qualities.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite (excel, word, power point, etc), Adobe Suite, and general understanding of social media platforms required.
Working nights and weekends is a requirement, since its "show business" and that's when we're at the office and producing our programs. You will be involved with the operations of the theater as part of a small dynamic team.

The Martha's Vineyard Film Society, Inc. is a member-funded 501 (c)(3) non-profit arts organization begun in 1999, dedicated to screening the best in independent films, movie classics, documentaries, and world cinema for diverse audiences of all ages throughout the calendar year. The Film Society also offers an enriched film program that includes film-related speakers and filmmakers, educational programs for both youth and adults, and special cultural events to enhance its mission and increase the public's appreciation of fine cinema in all its forms.
The Film Society runs the Martha's Vineyard Film Center at the Tisbury Marketplace (Vineyard Haven), consisting of the Marilyn Meyerhoff Theatre, a 176 stadium seat configured DCI cinema and stage, the Feldman Family Art Space, and offices to carry out its programming and educational mission.
The Film Society produces the annual Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival begun in 2006, the MV Environmental Film Festival, FILMUSIC Festival, SPECTRUM Film Festival (focused on LBGT+ issues and films), MV DOCUMENTARY WEEK and WOMEN IN FILM Festival (focused on women story-tellers/filmmakers).
The Film Society presented over 200 feature and short films, over 650 programs, to more than 30,000 patrons annually at the MV Film Center.
