Q: What is FilmEx?
A: FilmEx is a virtual program of the Film Festival Alliance. From full-time staff to seasonal workers, board members to advisory councils, we encourage you to bring your whole team to participate. Sessions will be offered at a range of levels, accommodating all skillsets and giving everyone from your Executive Director to your Executive Assistant an opportunity to meet their peers and discuss the biggest challenges facing them for the new year. Throughout the conference, we will host virtual sessions, workshops, and discussions on current and evergreen industry topics. With multiple tracks including Programming, Development, Marketing, and Operations, sessions will tackle critical issues facing festivals and cinemas.

Q: When is FilmEx Happening?
A: FilmEx is a virtual conference taking place the week of January 10th, 2022, with sessions open to all on the 10th, 12th, and 14th. Select sessions will also take place on the 11th and the 13th.

Q: How do I register for the virtual conference?
A: You can register through ticketing software and FilmEx Presenting sponsor, Eventive’s registration portal: https://filmex2022.eventive.org/welcome

Q: What is the conference fee?

A: We have various options:
Individual FFA Member: $150
Individual Non-Member: $200

(Under $500k annual budget)
Includes Individual Passes for up to 5 attendees

(Under $1m annual budget)
Includes Individual Passes for up to 7 attendees

(Over $1m annual budget)
Includes Individual Passes for up to 9 attendees

Q: On your registration page, I see an option for “members.” What does this mean?
A: Film Festival Alliance is a membership-based organization. Film festivals and festival workers are welcome to join as a member here: https://filmfestivalalliance.org/how-to-join/.

Q: What is Film Festival Alliance?
A: Film Festival Alliance is a not-for-profit organization serving film festivals and the people who run them. We foster a collaborative global community for mission-driven film festivals, advocate for a sustainable and inclusive environment within the cinema exhibition ecosystem, and create a powerful collective voice for our industry.

Q: Is there anything I should know about participating virtually?
A: Yes. Once you register, you will have full access to all programs when they become available at their scheduled time slot. Sessions are a mix of livestream webinars and breakout sessions. All sessions will be recorded unless otherwise indicated.

Q: How do I participate in a livestream through Eventive?
A: You will simply login to your Eventive account and select the livestream from the right sidebar. Click on “enter livestream” at the scheduled time. There is a countdown clock on the livestream window to let you know when it will start.

Q: Help! Something came up and I am not able to attend a panel I really wanted to! Is there a way I can watch a recording?
A: Yes! All livestreams are recorded and made available to all registrants throughout the duration of the conference, and indefinitely after the conference for repeat and delayed viewing.

Q: Will I be able to interact with the panel and ask questions?
A: Yes and no. For our webinars, you are able to submit questions in the chat for the panelists. For our breakout sessions, you will have access to the chat function but also the opportunity to engage in the Zoom room with your camera.
