Help Us Build a Fairer Festival Industry
The Film Festival Alliance’s Festival Worker Employment & Compensation Study is a groundbreaking effort to shine a light on wages, benefits, and working conditions across the film festival industry. By participating, you’ll help us gather critical data to advocate for fair compensation, empower workers, and drive meaningful change.

Your responses are anonymous, and the survey takes just 15 minutes to complete. This is your chance to contribute to a clearer picture of what it’s really like to work behind the scenes of film festivals and help shape a more equitable future for our industry.

How long will the survey take to complete?

The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. You can pause and return to it later if needed, as your progress will be saved automatically.

Will my data be kept confidential?

We understand that sharing information about your compensation and working conditions is personal. That’s why we’ve prioritized anonymity in this survey design. Your answers will remain confidential and will only be used to create aggregate statistics, never linked to individual respondents. Further, individual responses will remain with our data research partner, Avenue ISR, and not be shared or accessed by Film Festival Alliance, its staff, or its board of directors.

What information should I have ready before starting?
You'll be asked to fill out detailed information for your festival work in the past two years. You can provide data on up to five festivals that you've worked for. For each festival, it will be helpful to have data including your pay rate, your employment status, an estimate of hours worked, and additional benefits and perks. If you have a contract, that would be a great document to reference. Questions are not required, and you can fill in as little or as much as you would like.

Can I go back and change my answers?
Yes, you can return to previous questions and modify your responses until you submit the final survey. Once you click "Submit" at the end, you won't be able to make further changes.
