Shipping and Technical Coordinator:
Location: Hybrid, Washington, DC (In-person leading up to and throughout the festival)

Dates: February 1 – April 30, 2026
Filmfest DC is seeking a Shipping and Technical Coordinator to oversee the shipping and delivery of all inbound and outbound films screening at the Washington, DC International Film Festival (April 16 - 26, 2026), as well as all the technical needs required at the festival venues to ensure films run smoothly. The job requires a highly organized individual to work with filmmakers, distributors, and other film festivals to ensure the safe and timely delivery of all films in various formats (such as DCP, mp4) and related materials.
The Shipping and Technical Coordinator will be responsible for making sure that all the films also arrive in working condition at the correct theaters in time for their screenings.
This is a temporary position to take place from February 1 – April 30, 2026. Compensation is offered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate direct communication between print sources and the festival to ensure the safe and on-time inbound and outbound delivery of all film materials

Work with venue staff to deliver and test each film and KDM

Request and collect KDMs for all encrypted DCPs

Maintain an organized spreadsheet that contains all the technical aspects of the film as well as details pertaining to the inbound and outbound shipping of each feature and short film

Create internal print traffic schedule for moving films between venues

Work with the festival team to address any potential issues before the festival

Be available to festival staff to answer questions via phone or email as needed

Work with venue staff, contractors, and volunteers to coordinate technical needs for introductions, Q&As, and other events
QUALIFICATIONS

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Familiarity with professional film projection equipment

Knowledge of various film formats and technical needs

Ability to manage many different moving pieces and address problems as they arise

Experience working at film festivals, ideally with a background in shipping and/or festival logistics

Experience with Google apps, Microsoft Office, and editing software preferred

Professional communication skills essential

Works well within a team

Ability to travel between venues as needed
