Why should I join Film Festival Alliance?
- Film Festival Alliance creates a collaborative global community for mission-driven film festivals. FFA advocates for a sustainable and inclusive environment for our industry within the cinema exhibition ecosystem and creates a powerful collective voice for film festivals and the people who run them.
- FFA creates opportunities for film festival professionals to come together throughout the year to share best practices and resources. As an FFA member, you are joining a cohort that is passionate about independent cinema, community building, supporting filmmakers and storytellers, the preservation of the industry as a unique cinematic experience. We welcome the sharing of ideas and perspectives.
- FFA members are mission-driven and mission-aligned and adhere to ethical practices and expectations that professional film organizations should meet when accepting film submissions and interacting with filmmakers. By complying with these guidelines, the film festival community benefits in its overall attempts to secure long lasting, trusting and transparent relationships with film industry stakeholders.
In addition to networking and access, Film Festival Alliance members meet annually at the Art House Convergence in Midway, Utah every January. The film organization and festival-specific programing allows our colleagues to meet face-to-face and to share experiences and strategies. Film Festival Alliance panels, roundtables and workshops are presented by fellow members, and address the full spectrum of organizational size and budget ranges.
Throughout the year, FFA presents Regional Roundtable gatherings. These meet-ups are designed to bring colleagues together to deep dive around a specific theme, while offering them the opportunity to program films and meet filmmakers.
Film Festival Alliance is dedicated to serving its members — all of them. Festivals small, medium and large benefit from each others connections, stories, resources and tips. As the Film Festival Alliance grows, we encourage you to let us know what benefits you would like to see from your membership, so that we can better serve our members, our common challenges and our individual challenges, as we celebrate and share our triumphs.
